The short version
NeoShiksha is a matching platform between parents and verified tutors — we are not the tutors' employer and we do not guarantee specific learning outcomes. Subscriptions are manual-renewal only (no auto-debit, ever). Demo fees are refundable only when the demo did not happen. By using NeoShiksha you confirm the information you give us is true, that you will not create fake accounts and that disputes will be settled under Indian law in Delhi.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of NeoShiksha — our website, mobile site, and any related services (together, the "Platform"). The Platform is operated by NEOSHIKSHA, a sole proprietorship registered in India under Udyam registration UDYAM-DL-02-0113438.
By creating an account, submitting a parent requirement, paying a fee, or otherwise using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
In these terms, "we", "us", and "NeoShiksha" mean NEOSHIKSHA; "you" means any parent, teacher, or visitor using the Platform.
2. Who can use NeoShiksha
To create an account on NeoShiksha you must be:
- At least 18 years of age
- Legally competent to enter into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872
- Resident in India
- Not under any legal or platform-level prohibition from using the service
Parents may submit requirements on behalf of their minor child but the parent remains the contracting party. The Platform is not intended for direct use by children.
3. Your account and the information you give us
- Each person may hold only one active account. Duplicate accounts may be merged or removed.
- All information you provide — name, phone, email, address, qualifications, identity documents — must be true, current, and complete.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Giving false information at signup — fake names, borrowed phone numbers, edited documents — can result in immediate suspension and, in serious cases, legal action.
4. What NeoShiksha is — and is not
NeoShiksha is a technology platform that helps parents find verified home tutors. We do background-check teacher identity documents, curate matches, and facilitate the introduction. After that, the tuition relationship is directly between the parent and the teacher.
What we are
- A matching platform with identity verification of teachers
- A curator that recommends top matches from interested teachers
- A payment facilitator for demo fees and subscriptions
What we are not
- We are not the employer of the teachers on the Platform
- We are not an agent, broker, or guarantor of any tuition arrangement
- We do not set tuition fees — those are negotiated directly between parent and teacher
- We do not guarantee any specific learning outcome, grade improvement, or board result
- We do not take a commission from the teacher's tuition income
5. Subscription plans and renewal
Teachers can subscribe to one of two plans — Monthly or Annual. Each plan has its own fee and its own demo-fee rate. While our Launch Year Offer is running, teachers get free access to the leads dashboard and pay only a reduced per-demo fee; a paid plan is required once the offer ends. Current pricing is always shown on the For Teachers page before payment.
Manual renewal only — our "no surprise charges" promise
- We do not run auto-debit, recurring mandates, or e-NACH on subscriptions. Ever.
- Every renewal is a deliberate one-click action by you. We will remind you on Day -7, Day -3, Day -1, Day 0, and Day +7 around the expiry date.
- If you do nothing, your plan simply ends. We will never silently charge you again.
- This promise is written into our T&C precisely so it cannot be changed quietly later.
Grace and lapsed periods
- Day 0 to Day +7 after expiry — "Grace" status. You keep your previous plan's demo-fee rate. Your community access continues.
- Day +7 onward without renewal — "Lapsed" status. Community access is removed, demo bookings move to a flat ₹999 per demo, and your dashboard becomes read-only until you renew.
- Reactivate any time by picking any plan.
Subscription fees are non-refundable once paid. If you cancel mid-term, your plan continues until the paid period ends — and then does not auto-renew.
6. Launch Year Offer
At launch we run a single promotional offer — the Launch Year Offer — for both teachers and parents. It is provided at our sole discretion and has no fixed end date; we switch it off manually once enough teachers and parents have joined.
For teachers
- Free access to the WhatsApp community and the leads dashboard — no subscription required while the offer is active.
- A reduced fee of ₹99 per demo for the entire offer period.
- Once the offer ends, you choose either the Monthly or the Annual plan to keep accessing leads. Your community access stays free.
For parents
- ₹0 to join a parent community, post a requirement, and book a demo while the offer is active.
- Once the offer ends, a flat ₹49 per demo applies. Community joining and requirement posting remain free.
We will give clear notice — at least about a month in advance — before the Launch Year Offer ends, so you can choose a plan that suits you. We may end the offer at our discretion; any change is announced in advance.
7. Demo bookings and fees
- Demos are introductory sessions between a parent and a tutor — typically the first class, in your home or online.
- Parents pay a flat ₹49 per demo (₹0 while the Launch Year Offer is active).
- Teachers pay a per-demo fee that depends on their plan — ₹199 on Monthly, ₹99 on Annual, and ₹99 while the Launch Year Offer is active — or ₹999 if their plan has lapsed.
- A maximum of 5 teachers may express interest in any one parent requirement. From these, our team curates the top 3 matches for the parent.
- Tuition fees beyond the demo are negotiated directly between parent and teacher. NeoShiksha is not a party to that arrangement.
8. Refunds
Our refund rule is short and absolute: refund only when the demo did not happen. If a teacher pays the demo fee and the parent fails to respond, or the parent cancels, or the teacher does not show up — we refund. If the demo happened and the parent simply chose not to continue with the tutor, we do not refund.
Full details of every refund scenario are in our Refund and Cancellation Policy at /refund-policy.
9. Acceptable use
Using NeoShiksha, you agree NOT to:
- Create fake accounts, use stolen identities, or impersonate another person
- Submit fake parent requirements or fake teacher profiles
- Harass, threaten, or send unsolicited promotional messages to other users
- Attempt to bypass our fees by arranging a demo through NeoShiksha and then handling it off-platform to avoid paying
- Scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer the Platform or its data
- Upload viruses, malware, or any code intended to disrupt the Platform
- Use the Platform for any purpose other than its intended use of arranging genuine tuition relationships
10. Identity verification
Teachers must upload a valid government-issued identity document — Aadhaar, Voter ID, or Driving Licence — before their first demo can be confirmed. We collect this for one-time verification only; details on storage and retention are in our Privacy Policy.
We may at our discretion ask for additional verification (a fresh selfie, a working professional reference, a video call) where signals suggest fraud risk. Refusing to complete verification means we cannot share parent contact details with you, and we will refund any demo fee already paid.
11. Content you post
Teachers may post study material, videos, and discussion content in the NeoShiksha community. By posting, you confirm that you own the content or have the right to share it, and you grant NeoShiksha a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute it on the Platform.
We may remove content that is unlawful, plagiarised, defamatory, misleading, or otherwise inconsistent with these terms. Repeated violations can result in suspension or removal from the community.
12. Intellectual property
The NeoShiksha name, the NEO mascot, the website design, the platform code, and all related branding are the intellectual property of NEOSHIKSHA. You may not copy, redistribute, or build a competing service using our materials without prior written permission.
Teachers retain ownership of the content they post. Parents retain ownership of the information they submit. NeoShiksha holds only the limited licence needed to operate the Platform.
13. Privacy
Your personal data is handled under our Privacy Policy at /privacy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference. By using the Platform you also agree to the Privacy Policy.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if:
- You breach these terms or the Acceptable Use rules above
- We have reasonable grounds to suspect fraud or identity misuse
- You initiate a payment chargeback that we believe is unfounded
- A court, regulator, or law-enforcement body requires us to do so
- You have been inactive for 24 months continuously
If your account is suspended you may appeal by emailing hello@neoshiksha.in within 30 days. We will review the matter and respond with a final decision.
You may close your account at any time from your dashboard or by writing to us. Closure does not entitle you to a refund of subscription fees already paid.
15. Liability limitations
NeoShiksha is a matching platform. We use reasonable care to verify teacher identities and to curate matches, but we cannot — and do not — guarantee:
- The teaching quality, behaviour, or punctuality of any individual teacher
- Any specific academic outcome, grade improvement, or board result
- Continued availability of any given teacher for the full tuition relationship
- That demo or tuition sessions will be uninterrupted by external factors (illness, weather, technical issues)
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NeoShiksha's total cumulative liability to you under these terms is limited to the total fees you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the event that gave rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses (lost income, lost opportunities, distress).
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian consumer-protection law.
16. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify NeoShiksha against any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) that arises from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Platform, or your interactions with other users that go beyond what NeoShiksha facilitates.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Platform evolves or as the law changes. For any material change — a change to fees, refund rules, the no-auto-debit promise, or your rights — we will notify active users by email or in-app banner at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
Continuing to use the Platform after the change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, you may close your account before the change takes effect.
18. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of the Platform is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Delhi.
Before going to court, both parties agree to attempt a good-faith resolution by email — write to legal@neoshiksha.in describing the issue, and we will respond within 14 days.
